I recently did a promo shoot with dubstep producer Compa as he needed a few shots for general promotions, and more specifically for an interview in Trap Magazine. For those who don’t know Compa, he’s been making waves with his dark dubstep styles for some time now, generating massive interest with his ‘Dem a Talk’ track, which was finally released this year.
Another element of his game which is garnering a lot of respect is his commitment to vinyl and dubplates, DJing solely on turntables and pioneering nights committed to only vinyl DJs. His releases so far have all been on limited edition vinyl release and he’s even been known to forgo food in favour of cutting some new dubplates – now thats commitment!
So as far as the shoot went, we didn’t have loads of time (we’re both busy people) but we managed to get some shots around the back of his house in which I tried to reflect his style and music. There’s a few here to have a look at, if you keep an eye on Compa’s career and music you may well see more very soon.
